My name is John Paul Ouvrier, and I have a personal story that more than qualifies me to be your guide in this journey, however, before we explore this, let me stay on track with answering the questions. I have spent the last 15 years interviewing hundreds of Doctors, PT’s, OT’s, Chiropractors, Nurses, and Caregivers, and I asked them a series of questions designed to do one thing:

Let’s be honest; most people start exercise and stop. And they feel bad. Yet, and listen to me on this- these are the same people who can work long, long, hours, sacrifice their lives for their families, give up everything for others, and yet they can’t find 30 minutes a day to exercise? That makes no sense. The hardest working and smartest people in our society can’t seem to succeed with exercise? It doesn’t make any sense…
Here’s the real reason why they don’t exercise:
It doesn’t give them great results…
Look around, and see if I am right. Look at the older population. Take a look at a group of seniors out taking a walk. How many of them actually look good? Very few. Most are bent over, take the wrong size steps, have poor balance, and are falls waiting to happen. Think I am wrong? I am not.
I have sold exercise equipment all over the world, and have worked in retirement homes since 1996, training the older population under the care and guidance of both doctors and PT’s as a Fitness Trainer specializing in working with older adults, and I know what happens to adults as they get older:
They get better at whatever they’re doing,
and if they don’t know what they’re doing,
they lose the freedom of movement that they have.
SUCH A SIMPLE ANSWER.
BUT DESIGNING A PROTOCOL
SO THAT ANYONE,
OF ANY AGE,
AND ANY ABILITY
COULD USE AND SUCCEED TOOK 15 YEARS TO DO…
choice is very simple:
Are you going to be one of the older adults
who physically loses everything they have?
Want to know a secret? Not being aware of your body leaves you at the mercy of whatever habits your life has dealt you. You are no different than the older population I am speaking about. Your bad habits are the same ones the older population has. Here are a few that Over-Age your body and make you older than you are:

· Fact: Most of us do not know what our body is doing, nor what our daily directions are telling it to do.
· Fact: Most of us, through no bad intention, fail miserably, a little more each year physically, because we don’t know what we are telling our body to do…
Can you spend any amount of money you want?
Can you eat anything you want?
Say anything you want?
No. Everything has simple rules. Such as making sure there is enough money in your checking account before you write a check. The body is no different. I know what I am talking about, intimately. Read this excerpt from the intro of one of my books in the WIZARD OF YOUTH SERIES:
My name is John Paul Ouvrier, and I am the author. During my formative years in school, I developed scoliosis of the spine, which became quite severe during my teenage years when I grew far too quickly, and gained my confidence far too slowly. I was given a choice to pursue exercise or surgical options for my back, and I chose the exercise option. Today I enjoy a somewhat straight back, and though an x-ray shows where some of the curves still are, I enjoy my life physically. Yet, I still must do my exercises; I have to do the same things I am preaching. WE ALL HAVE TO.
I was lucky enough to go on to a career as a professional ballroom dancer, earning dance degrees with the North American Dance Teachers Association. I taught students who had physical limitations, and was lucky enough to be asked to assist seniors in retirement centers by concerned family members. I worked directly under doctor and P.T. supervision, and developed my programs in retirement centers. My college years, which consisted mostly of business classes, could have never prepared me for what I had to learn: What I am teaching you does not exist within the academic community!
There is no get started guide for everyone. In fact, close friends in the medical field have advised me to complete my degree, and go to medical school so I couldn't be challenged by those with a medical degree. While this is a wonderful option, I have work to do first in helping everyone, then I will complete the 'other' stuff! Everyday in the United States, and worldwide, tens of thousands of people die unnecessarily due to a lack of physical knowledge. There is no time to waste. I am honored to have professionally taught exercise and life changing skills for more than twenty years, and am honored to be your host on this journey.
Discovering how to straighten and keep my back straight led me to realize that few people know much about taking care of their bodies. We are not taught basic principles as children about breathing, or relaxing our shoulders. We didn’t learn how to train our stomachs to stay in so they don’t protrude as adults. No one considers that basic balance tools could save today’s children from falls when they are older adults.
Therefore, we have a society today where few adults know what ‘exercise’ really means, and even fewer could tell you what to include to succeed. Most adults pursue exercise and fitness blindly, and ultimately fail. My goal in writing this book, and its corresponding series for adults, was to ingrain within the mind a set of simple principles to take care of the body. In much the same way as a child learns to brush their teeth, so the Wizard of Youth for Adults and Kids shows simple things we can do to keep themselves young as we grow older…
· I know what it is like to wake up and not be able to move.
· I know what it is like to go to the doctor and have him say, “Well that’s just the way it is; you will NEVER walk normally…”
· I know what it is like to have everyone say, “That’s just the way it is…”
· I know what it is like to have everyone give up on you.

Here is an example from the Master’s Course.
· All exercise begins with Awareness of the Body.
· Awareness of the Body begins by relaxing the shoulders-
and constantly relaxing them during the ENTIRE time
you are exercising.
· All sports professionals do this.
· When the shoulders are tight, the entire body stops functioning properly. Here are a few things that go wrong:
· The head is pitched forward, throwing balance off
· When the shoulders go up, the chest goes down, stopping the flow of air. Tight shoulders equal shallow breathing, over working the heart.
· When the chest goes down, the stomach is forced outwards. Tight shoulders actually force the waist line out.
· Tight Shoulders = A Down and Round Back = A Collapsed Chest = Breasts and Pecs that Sag = A Fat Neck = A Fatter Face = Ribs that Force the Stomach Out = A Large Waist = Low Back Pain = Older Adults with Small Steps… and the list goes on…
Spoken like this, exercise takes on a different tone. I am not a standard fitness trainer. I am a Long Life Specialist. I am a Fitness Educator. I am the man whose job is to make the little things we do that hurt us, so obvious that you will NEVER DO THEM AGAIN…
